Aren't basic shotgun rounds rather straight-forward to make?

anyway, I think the OP is drunk :p He's saying that you'll want to get hold of 9mm, 38's, 32's and 22' dear rifles as you need to consider availability. Also, collect bows/arrows because everyone else will have/want them.

The problem with bows/arrows is that people these days are pussies and can't shoot an arrow for shit, me included

At the fist stages of the end of the world, you will wont 9mm, 38's and 32's. They are the most command calbr. 22' deer rifles will be good to.
You will need to consider 'avalability'. You will also want to collect 'bows/arrows" long befor you need them, or others will have them all, befor you do.

It was more like he was trying to be serious, trying to make his own little zombie-world (which he relied upon for his other book, World War Z). So... as a comedic piece, it sucked. And as >>1629 mentioned, it was pretty stupid most of the time.... whether or not you think it should be "taken seriously" the book was just plain bad.

It had great storytelling which they accomplished basically through object placement, essentially painting the entire storyline. The game play is great and I love coop, I got used to l4d and now l4d2 on expert is handing me my ass (fucking chargers).

The idea that the environment these 4 random individuals existed would require them to become incredibly badass at not only shooting but understanding how the zombies operated was a big turn on for me (vietnaaaaam!). I wondered if the survivors from these two games had a particularly rough time or if their ordeals were standard fare.

Pound for pound for most uses, aluminium cans will be a MUCH more reliable, and easily worked, source of metal. I have no practice smelting gold...But I've melted down aluminium and cast my own arrow heads with the stuff before. Works fine, though they don't last long.
