This is the most cyberpunk thing I have ever seen, and pretty damn hardcore to boot.

Fuck yeah, Lepht Anonym. He is the master of biohacking, he really is. Used to be a lurker of biohacking/DIYH+ lists and boards myself.

I would love to try this but I'm ridiculous scared of pain and needles.

I wonder if there is anyone legitimate who would do it for me.

Absolutely god-like stuff. I can only hope he won't need an MRI, ever, or he'll be fairly fucked.

Cell phones. Does anyone else here use a hacked or pirated (Chinese or other) cellphone? Pic related. I found a T-mobile Shadow lying on the side of the road. Unlocked the T-Mobile sim lock to take advantage of its quad band hardware and to have an international phone.

Started installing apps like skype and gmail to not need the phone parts, and changed the default theme (it was brown...) Is there anything else I could do to make it better?

Used to have a jailbroken first-gen iPhone, but I, foolishly, let my friend's daughter borrow it, who let her friend borrow it, whose dog bit it. Sadly, there's no known method of fixing an iPhone when around a quarter of it's passed through the canine digestive system.

Dear Megachan. In view of the chilean past events, I have been wondering how can I save my dearest desktop PC, in the dreadmost case of having an earthquake in my country, which is partially close to that area. [Not that close, but somewhere near]

So, Would you help me define a safe path?
Thanks a lot. Pic Not very related.

You risk the loss of data no matter where you store it. The only thing you can do is mitigate it - for example have more than 1 backup in more than 1 location (and make them completely different)
>> No. 4290

apparently. I haven't played with it yet.

I never got the authentication working correctly. I'd have to login a dozen times for it to maybe work. The sync with Gnome Evolution looked pretty sweet, but the implementation blows.

I use JungleDisk quite a bit, the storage is dirt cheap via Rackspace Cloud Files, and you don't pay for bandwidth. It can function like dropbox or act as a network drive, keeps its own backups, etc. You still have the problem where in a disaster of epic proportions, you're probably not going to have access to that backup, and you're better off federating with your friends with Tahoe LAFS.

In the "Downloads" section there are a lot of music. I Recommend "Soundtrack to the Rebellion", "Attack Music" and "Steve's Quest".

Looks nifty but impractical at best (and downright useless at worst). Similarly to what OP quoted, I wouldn't mind one, but I'm not entirely sure what I would do with it.

I'll pass. It's so small you'd want single hand operation, but instead you'll not be able to touch type because you have to use two.

I think it was an episode of Cowboy Bebop where there was a hacker that had two keyboards hanging on the outside of his pants pockets which I thought was pretty cool. The frogpad is perfect for this... maybe link it to a nokia n900 and a HUD type device. If you're really hardcore, use an audio interface for the blind or something and some sort of other haptic feedback mechanism. I've got an old nokia 770 laying around, but it's completely t3h suck and not worth a $100 peripheral.

shoes; i suppose cyberpunk shoes, with different characteristic then
military boots

i'm looking for decent infiltration shoes: running and climbing are
important, but not in the "hardcore" parkour style.

i run daily in flat soled shoes (converse typically, i also picked up
some shoes that look like something bruce lee would train in, with
slightly more heel support, then converse. i don't remember the brand
at the moment), and, when i have a chance, barefoot.

i want something with better grip, better yet with a more rigid nose,
so that i can climb walls in them too. none of the shoes i have give a
particularly good grip when climbing: slip out of the holds, sometimes
slip on more slippery surfaces.
